Red Barn on Hwy 18

Highway 18 in Arkansas

This barn is located on Highway 18 in Dell, AR.
It also happens to be a barn that I was commissioned to paint a few years ago.

Its been a while since I posted pictures. I've been super busy.  I'm going to try to post some photos from the past few months to catch up.

Trip across Arkansas

NE Arkansas Fields

Yes, I take photos while driving down the highway, but...I don't look at what I'm taking the pictures of. So its ok, I am paying attention to my driving.  These photos are picked from many bad photos. Now if I could just figure out a way to mount my camera onto my dash!

Tall overpasses!
You don't want to look down!

Later, I'll post a few pictures I took while there, but I only have a few this trip.

Trip Home...not as many pictures!

Construction delays...

more like 5 mph!

 Spreading concrete!
Gotta slow down to be safe!

Next time I will post some photos of places that I visit while on a trip across Arkansas.

Sunrise through the Trees

Sunrise through the Trees
I took this photo last year as I was driving to a colored pencil workshop. The sun was coming up and I was traveling this country road. It was beautiful! I have more photos and plan to draw one of them, eventually.

The View from the Highway...

Delicious Frozen Yogurt!
...can be quite interesting. With the convenience of digital cameras, combined with the internet and the blogging community, this just seems like the right place for me to share my journey through photos. I won't be writing alot of commentary, well maybe occassionally, but usually not.  I only wish that I had digital cameras 30 years ago when I invested my whole income tax refund on my first 35 mm camera!  I loved my Olympus camera. But it sure did take me awhile to get used to it.  And I sure don't miss the film and developing!

So now that my teaching journey is winding down and my art career is 'ramping' up (I hope), I hope to record many interesting places and things along that highway.   This may include food, interesting people, places, and things that I encounter along my journeys.

So I will leave you today with these images of some yummy looking desserts that were on display at the Fresh Market that I was taken to by Mary, my dear long time friend, on my most recent trip. Other photos will follow in the days to come.

If anyone is reading this blog, the first post...hope to hear from you!
